Lotusia Group Supports Inclusive Christmas Initiative with MINDS at Fernvale Community Club

Little Hands, Big Joy was an inclusive Christmas initiative by Lotusia Group and the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia, bringing together creativity, practical support, and shared moments of connection with students from MINDS Raintree SSCC.

In December, Lotusia Group, through the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia, partnered with MINDS Raintree Special Student Care Centre to organise Little Hands, Big Joy — an inclusive Christmas initiative created to bring moments of joy, creativity, and connection to students with intellectual disabilities.

Held on 5 December, the session brought together 29 students from MINDS Raintree SSCC for a hands-on festive activity where they designed and created their own DIY Christmas socks. The activity encouraged self-expression and confidence, allowing each student to take pride in something they had made themselves.

Beyond the creative activity, the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia also donated windbreakers to the students. The windbreakers were intended to support the students during their outdoor activities, providing practical comfort while enabling them to participate more confidently in their day-to-day programmes.

Following the event, the students’ handmade Christmas socks were displayed at Fernvale Community Club as part of its Christmas decorations from 11 to 30 December. The display gave the students an opportunity to share their work with family members and the wider community, turning a simple activity into a meaningful moment of inclusion.

The initiative was supported by Jack Lei, Yu Haixin, Jessica Zheng, and Polar Puffs & Cakes, whose contributions helped make the experience possible for the students.

The gathering also included simple activity stations, shared time between volunteers and students, and a communal lunch. These moments created space for interaction, companionship, and genuine connection, reminding everyone involved that inclusion is often built through small, thoughtful experiences.

Since its chartering in 2023 under Lions Clubs International, the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia has continued to support community initiatives focused on inclusion, care, and social connection. This collaboration with MINDS reflects a shared belief that every child deserves opportunities to express themselves and feel part of the community.

As the festive season came to a close, Little Hands, Big Joy served as a quiet reminder of what the season represents — joy, creativity, and inclusion, experienced together.
