Jacob Tao: Leadership at the Intersection of Cross-Border Execution and Community Impact

A leadership perspective on how disciplined execution, digital platforms and community engagement are shaping Lotusia Group’s next phase of cross-border growth across Singapore, China and Southeast Asia.

Since 2024, Jacob Tao has served as Co-CEO of Lotusia Group, playing a central role in shaping the firm’s direction as it enters a new phase of regional expansion, digitalisation and community engagement.

As Lotusia strengthens its cross-border advisory capabilities across Singapore, China and Southeast Asia, Jacob’s leadership continues to focus on execution, translating policy, strategy and intent into practical outcomes for founders, partners and communities.

Building Foundations in Cross-Border Advisory

Jacob’s background spans corporate advisory, international market entry and ecosystem development. Prior to joining Lotusia, he supported Chinese technology companies establishing operations in Singapore, co-organised SME Exchange Summits in 2018 and 2019, and worked on regulatory and corporate structuring matters for blockchain and fintech clients.

In 2022, he facilitated his firm’s onboarding into the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Connections Concierge programme, contributing to Singapore’s positioning as a global headquarters hub for fast-growing companies.

At Lotusia Group, Jacob has been closely involved in advancing business cooperation under the China–Singapore Chongqing Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity. He regularly leads delegations, supports two-way business exchanges and works directly with founders entering ASEAN markets. These efforts form a key part of Lotusia’s operating model, helping clients move beyond incorporation towards sustainable regional scale.

“Our work is about turning policy intent into operational reality,” Jacob explains. “Founders need clarity, structure and confidence when they expand across borders.”

Rather than chasing short-term wins, the organisation focused on strengthening its core, including how decisions are made, how teams collaborate, and how work moves across borders.

Education, Culture and Long-Term Bilateral Engagement

Alongside his business role, Jacob has remained actively involved in education and cultural exchange initiatives. Since 2022, he has donated annual sets of a Chinese prose anthology to Singapore’s National Institute of Education, supporting literary appreciation under the guidance of Associate Professor Tan Chee Lay.

In 2023, he collaborated with the Goh Loo Club to sponsor cultural seminar series focused on heritage dialogue and bilateral understanding between Singapore and China. He has also supported talk shows and cultural programmes aimed at deepening long-term people-to-people connections.

From 2026 onwards, Lotusia plans to expand its engagement with educational institutions through school talks and industry-sharing initiatives. These programmes are designed to offer students exposure to real market-entry, compliance and cross-border business challenges, while building practical understanding of Southeast Asia’s evolving business environment.

Community Work Through the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia

Jacob currently serves as President of the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia, where he has led the expansion of community-focused initiatives grounded in accessibility and participation.

During Singapore’s 60th National Day celebrations, he guided club members’ involvement in the Keep Singapore Clean movement as Environmental Ambassadors. He also introduced Inclunema, a sensory-friendly cinema experience designed for children with intellectual disabilities, with adjusted lighting, sound and seating.

In December 2025, he spearheaded Little Hands, Big Joy, a collaboration with MINDS Raintree SSCC that brought students’ handmade Christmas socks to public display at Fernvale Community Club. The initiative was supported by youth volunteers and corporate partners, reinforcing a community-led approach to social impact.

Looking ahead to 2026, the club plans to extend its efforts through youth-led volunteering programmes, cross-organisation collaborations and expanded support networks to strengthen inclusion and participation.

“Community work has to be continuous,” Jacob notes. “It should be part of how we operate, not an afterthought.”
Lotusia Group’s Next Phase

Lotusia’s next phase of development reflects a more integrated approach to supporting clients across business growth, compliance and long-term planning.

A key focus is Bizzkey, the Group’s digital incorporation and compliance platform, introduced to streamline cross-border workflows and operational execution. As Bizzkey evolves, Lotusia is advancing AI-enabled tools to improve transparency, compliance management and scalability for businesses operating across Southeast Asia.

In parallel, the Group is expanding into wealth management. With a licensed presence in Hong Kong and a dedicated team being established in Singapore, Lotusia is extending its services beyond corporate advisory to include long-term wealth planning aligned with cross-border structures and entrepreneurial needs.

Together, these developments position Lotusia as a holistic cross-border platform, supporting clients not only in setting up, but also in operating, scaling and preserving value across regions.
